Lights, Lights, Lights

When our family goes to look at Christmas lights around town, you can expect a few things:
Cameron and Blake will refuse to join us.
Someone will throw a fit and cry.
There will be threats of Christmas presents being taken away.
Mom will talk about how she wants us to steal other people's decorations.
Most of the time we will not see any lights.
By the end, Dad will be begging to go home.

But for some reason, it's one of the most entertaining nights of the season.  Go figure.

Cookies for Santa

Addison, Blake and I made sugar cookies for Santa (and us) while our parents were gone yesterday.  Decorating them was harder than you would think.  It was our parents' anniversary so we also cleaned the entire house, which after making the cookies was a big deal, and Addison wrote them a card and we left them beautifully wrapped presents.  We are the best children ever :)

On Sunday, I got ANOTHER birthday celebration.  This time Niki (my aunt) and Makadee (my cousin) celebrated with me :)

Off To The Doctor's We Go

Part of being a college student during Christmas Break means doctors appointments.  Plenty of doctor's appointments haha.  And today I started off the bunch with the dentist.  Luckily nothing was wrong with my teeth, but that didn't stop me from suffering through being gagged by the x-ray machine, stabbed by the cleaning tools, and getting static hair from the doctor rubbing against my head.  Oh well, at least my teeth will be clean for Christmas treats!!

Another Mini-Trip

Yesterday, the Aggies played in a bowl game in Boise.  (Let's not talk about the score).  But Cameron and his friends decided to pay through the nose for tickets so my parents and I dropped them off and went shopping.  I got some new boots so hopefully I can make it up the hill without sliding (Thanks Mom), and I loved spending the day with my mommy and daddy. 

And then today, I visited the singles branch and listened to beautiful music and great talks on Christmas.  It was great to be reminded about what the Christmas season is really about :)

Christmas Toes!

My talent with painting toes is close to zero. But yesterday Addison and I got bored so we attempted to make candy canes.

They actually turned out better than I expected. Even if you can't really see them haha  Love that little girl.

O Christmas Tree

The one thing I didn't have at my apartment that I really, really missed was a Christmas Tree.   Luckily, for me, we have no shortage of that here :)

It's so pretty :)

There are also nativity sets and other Christmas decorations all over the house.  Thank goodness for decorations :)

Principal Walk

Oh the joys of coming home.  I got to wake up bright and early this morning to watch Addison in the Principal Walk at her school.  When she gets enough AR point for reading books she gets to parade around with the principal.  It's a pretty big deal.  Anyways, she was super excited and I got to give her a high five :)  Also, I had a real dinner last night without having to cook ANYTHING! Aaaannndd I don't have to climb up on the counter every time I need a dish out of the cabinet.  AND.... I FINALLY got my major birthday present (My birthday is a month-long celebration if you haven't noticed).

Isn't it beautiful?! My cracked phone is little bitter about being abused and then replaced though :( But somehow I think it'll get over it :)

Finals are over, my room is packed up, presents are wrapped, and I got to end the semester by going home today!!!!! :)

11 Days!!

Just Like Pomerelle

Well folks, it was bound to happen.  Today, while tackling the dreaded hill, it was a bit more slushy than normal.  And my shoes didn't have as much traction as normal.  These two items combined = me sliding backwards down the hill.  Did I mention I had all my textbooks in my backpack so that I could return them, and it was seriously weighing me down?  Anyway, I used my mad ninja /mediocre-skier skills and slid to the grassy edge while screaming a little.  I even got the sympathy of a girl walking behind me.  But, alas, I did not fall! But I'm sure that post will be coming sometime soon :)

12 Days!!

Go AWAY Jack Frost!

My room has been fa fa fa freeeeezing the past few days (pretty sure my heater is broken).  And as a result, I have a developed a nasty cold.  (The ice block water slide had nothing to do with it I'm sure)  No worries, drugs, footie pjs, and naps are helping me battle the cold (both inside and out of my body haha)

Also, studying is semi-working.  I have a hard time staying focused but two of my five are already out of the way.  Can't wait to sell my books back and get my chilly little butt back to Rupert.

If you are just as upset with this no-snow-but-still-makes-your-eyelashes-freeze weather as I am, just close your eyes and listen to this song.  (I've done it about 20 times in the last two days)

The Art of Ignoring Finals

This weekend, Dakota and I decided to completely blow off studying and enjoy our birthday weekend.  So we drove to Salt Lake, shopped, looked at the lights at Thanksgiving Point, spent the night at my aunt and uncle's house and drove back to hit the hot springs.  Which, by the way, the ghetto water slide at Crystal Hot Springs is SUPER FUN!!!

But trust me, if you thought two college girls driving through Salt Lake City is scary, you should see my "to study" list for the next two days haha.

Angry Bird Countdown

Currently, I am visiting my wonderful Aunt and Uncle, Gregg and Lacey :)  And since I had a blank moment of what Christmas item to post on, Gregg informed me of the Angry Bird advent calendar.  Apparently, every day of the month, you are allowed to play a higher level of angry birds.  So all y'all apple app game fanatics, you better get in on the action.  Happy Gaming!!!

Ballet

Tis the season for the Nutcracker, the Forgotten Carols and Hansel and Gretel :)

Given it was a couple weeks ago, Addison's ballet was still very Christmas themed, and I thought I'd shard the adorable pics.

She was a bird and a gingerbread cookie.  And I gave her the flowers and stuffed animal :)  She did amazing and looked SO DANG CUTE!

Oh and by the way, it's my birthday, and my facebook is BLOWING UP!!

17 Days!!

Birthday Surprises :)

So, I know my birthday isn't until tomorrow, but I've already had tons of presents :)

During Thanksgiving Break, my mom made me a cake, and I got my presents.

And yesterday, my roommates took me to Texas Roadhouse.  I got free ice cream, strawberry lemonade and I had to ride on the saddle haha.

And then my roommate bought me "The Help" and we watched it and played Five Crowns (which I won).

And then today, I got a package from my mommy with cards, money, croutons, and Christmas cd's :)

I have such amazing friends and family :) And it's not even my birthday yet!!!

ROAD TRIP!

So, my roommate Lexi has a brother, who has a band haha.  So yesterday, we spontaneously decided to go watch them in Battle of the Bands, at 8 o'clock at night, in Provo.  Forget studying for finals!

But we had a really fun trip filled with singing, talking, random grocery store pit stops, and indie rock clubs.  By the way, his band was AMAZING!!

Seeing as how I took down all the Halloween decorations and put up Christmas ones on Nov. 1st, I thought I'd show you some of my festive decorations.

These are only a small of part of the decorations my roommates and I have spread throughout the apartment.  But I think we can all agree that I have gotten a little more crafty since coming to college :)

So, obviously, the gospel is an important part of the Christmas season.  Church today helped me reflect on the blessing Christ has been on my life.  And tonight, after a delicious dinner prepared by my roommates, we get to watch the 1st Presidency Christmas Devotional.  I hope you all get the chance to watch it and remember the true meaning of Christmas :)

Christmas Miracles!

Today, I decided to tackle one of the hardest parts of the holiday season, Christmas shopping.  But while I was engaging in the endeavor, three Christmas Miracles surprised me!

First, I was able to get everyone's presents (excluding my dad.  If you have any suggestions let me know)
Second, I didn't get in a wreck in the parking lot full of mass loads of shoppers.
And third, I found this gem in my wallet that I had completely forgotten about.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Even the weather has decided to jump in on this December action.  Here are the beginnings of the second real snow fall we have had all year:

It doesn't look like much, but no worries the snow is still working on it.  In case you're wondering, sitting by the fire with my roommates and watching the snow is a quite lovely way to spend the afternoon :)

24 Days!

Turkey Day!

I decided to skip a couple days of school and give myself an extra-long Thanksgiving Break.  And it was totally worth it!! I did SO much that I didn't even have time to take pictures! haha But here are some of the highlights of my week.

ADDISON!

In case you haven't met my sister, she is just about the most adorable thing in the whole world.  And when I was home this weekend, she was cracking me up! Here are just a few of the hilarious things she said:

Her heater was broken in her room so she was sleeping in my parents' room.  When my dad wanted all of the kids out of his room she said, "It's MY room TOO!"

After ballet practice she said, "It's annoying because none of them pay attention!"

Blake asked her how many states there are.  "Fifty Nifty"

She was upset after ballet practice and when my mom had the audacity to suggest going into JC Penny's before getting lunch she ranted, "But I wanna eat something now and I wanna eat in the store, and I'm HUNGRY!!!"

She said I couldn't be her friend because I was her sister, and I got offended until she said, "Sisters are BETTER than friends!"

She's so cute :)

Happy Halloween!

Even though it feels like I have been celebrating Halloween for WAY too long, I most certainly had a "spook"tacular Halloween weekend haha.
On Friday, my roommates and I went to the USU basketball game and were scared out of our minds by some pranksters.
Saturday consisted of cheesy Halloween movies and then a halloween party :)

On Sunday, we listened to President Monson as part of our stake conference broadcast.
And finally, on the actual Halloween, Kota and I made a wicked awesome Halloween cake,

HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH

On Thurs. I started off my fall break by watching Cam's last football game and almost dying when a rock shattered our window!!!

But... We all lived and crammed ourselves into the pickup bright and early Friday morning to go to the one, the only, DISNEYLAND!!

Notice the special Halloween Mickey flowers :) the whole park was decked out, even some of the rides.  And we got to see special shows, parades, and go trick-or-treating in the park.

And this is how Cameron spent the trip:

I'm positive that he loved it as much as the rest of us :)

Last Friday Night

Because it has been faaaaaar too long, I visited my dear friend, Samantha Halverson, in Pocatello this weekend.  I love this girl and we always find ways to entertain ourselves :)


First up:  Grocery Shopping and Butterburns = a supply of deliciously unheathly food to help us through the weekend :)

Next:  How to make brownies (Kelsey and Sam style)

Step 1:  Buy the box

 Step 2:  Add Sam's (specially marked) eggs

 Step 3:  Add water and roommate's vegetable oil

 Step 4:  Run to Sam's sister's house to borrow a pan

 Step 5:  Pour mix into said pan

 Step 6:  Lick spilled batter off of Sam's toe

 Step 7:  Enthusiastically put brownies in the oven

Step 8:  Eat delicious meal

 Step 9:  Mark brownies so the roommates don't steal them

On Saturday, Sam let me tag along to a baptism (which was wonderful) and then we watched Zookeeper at the cheap theater (not so wonderful).  But I had a fantastic time and can't wait to show her my college town next time :)
